Championship Rounds

The State & Championship Rounds are the second part of the Financial Literacy Challenge.

During the Challenge Round (Quiz 1 & 2) every high school student in the country is eligible to participate.  Each school earns a team score which is the sum of the top 20 individual scores. Team scores at schools with less than 20 participants is the sum of the scores of those that participated.

The top scoring school from each county during the Challenge Round is advanced to the State Championship Round.

State Championship Round

The students from the top scoring school in each county will compete against other students in top scoring schools in their state by taking one quiz. Each school will have a Team Captain who is responsible to build his or her school’s team of participants for the State Championship Round.

Every student from your school that registers with CKSF is automatically on your team.  Get as many students as you can to participate because no score can hurt your team score, they can only help. It is a fast, fun and easy way to be part of a team and win scholarship money for college.

The team score is the sum of the top 20 scores from each school.  The top scoring school from each state will be recognized as the State Champions and the top five scorers on the team advance to the National Championship Round.

National Championship Round

One school from each participating state is advanced to the National Championship Round where a team of five students will individually complete one quiz covering advanced financial literacy topics.  The team with the highest combined score is the National Champion and each student is awarded a scholarship.

Only the top five (5) scorers from each school/team during the State Championship Round are advanced to the National Championship Round. Each of the five members on the winning team shares equally in the scholarship money.

If the Team Captain from the winning school is not one of the five who advance to the National Championship Round, he or she will receive a $250 scholarship.  If he or she is one of the five on the winning team at the National Championship Round the additional $250 award is not added to the amount shared by the team.  The Team Captain may, however, receive additional recognition and prizes.
